  • Business is located in the Williamston, Webberville, or Dansville Communities
  • Business contributes time or monetary support to enhance the general standard of living for residents of their community 
  • Business is active in promoting their community
  • Business is visible in the community and contributes to the public good

Nomination Considerations:

  • Business has opened within the last 12 months
  • New business if a member of the WACC and is held in high regard by the community
  • New business is located in the Williamston, Webberville, or Dansville Communities
  • New business contributes time or monetary support to enhance the general standard of living for residents of their community 
  • New business is active in promoting their community
  • New business is visible in the community and contributes to the public good

Nomination Considerations:

  • Restaurant is located in the Williamston, Webberville, or Dansville Communities
  • Restaurant is held in high regard by the community
  • Restaurant contributes time or monetary support to enhance the general standard of living for residents of their community 
  • Restaurant is active in promoting their community
  • Restaurant is visible in the community and contributes to the public good

Nomination Considerations:

  • Educator is held in high esteem by students, colleagues, and families
  • Educator currently teaches or has taught in the Williamston, Webberville, or Dansville Communities
  • Educator contributes to co-curricular activities and/or student-oriented events outside of the school day
  • Educator collaborates effectively with others to enhance district programming, instruction, facilities, transportation, or other essential services
  • Educator serves on school and/or district leadership teams or advisory committees
  • Educator is visible in the community and is an advocate for their district and public education

Nomination Considerations:

  • Public Servant is employed by the City of Williamston, contiguous townships or the Webberville or Dansville Communities
  • Public Servant has a distinguished record of selfless service or has made a singular key positive contribution to their community
  • Public Servant is held in high regard by the city government officials, their peers, and the community 
  • Public Servant is active in promoting their community
  • Public Servant is visible in the community and contributes to the public good

Nomination Considerations:

  • Volunteer is held in high regard by members of their service organization(s), if applicable, and their community
  • Volunteer is an active member of at least one service organization in their community
  • Volunteer has a distinguished record of selfless service or has made a singular key positive contribution to their community
  • Volunteer is active in promoting their community
  • Volunteer is visible in the community and contributes to the public good

Nomination Considerations:

  • Public Safety Officer/First Responder is held in high regard by their peers, government officials and their community
  • Public Safety Officer/First Responder works or resides in the Williamston, Webberville or Dansville Communities
  • Public Safety Officer/First Responder has a distinguished record of selfless service or has made a singular key positive contribution to their community
  • Public Safety Officer/First Responder is active in promoting their community
  • Public Safety Officer/First Responder is visible in the community and contributes to the public good

Nomination Considerations:

  • Veteran resides or is originally from the Williamston, Webberville, or Dansville Communities
  • Veteran has served honorably or is currently serving in any of the U.S. Armed Forces
  • Veteran has earned a specific award or military accomplishment and/or has a long-standing record of service with the U.S. Armed Forces
  • Veteran is visible in the community and actively contributes to the public good

Nomination Considerations:

  • Hometown Hero candidate resides in the Williamston, Webberville, or Dansville Communities
  • Hometown Hero candidate is held in high regard by members of their community
  • Hometown Hero candidate contributes significantly to the overall betterment of their community
  • Hometown Hero candidate exhibits leadership and/or selfless service through their contributions to their community often with little or no recognition
  • Hometown Hero candidate is involved in multiple groups, organizations, and/or activities, in their community and is regularly a part of community-building events
